White House Tour Information

Attention: The White House Tour Office is closed through mid-February 2009 as the incoming Obama Administration transistions into office.

Our office will not be accepting White House Tour requests until we receive word from the White House Tour Office that they have resumed operations.

We apologize for any inconveinence and will be monitoring this situation closely.

Thank you for requesting a tour of the White House. We will be happy to submit a request for your group, however the following White House instituted guidelines must be followed by our office in order to receive a tour.

Please read all of this information carefully. Failure to follow these guidelines can lead to a cancellation of your tour date by the White House.

Availability:

  • White House Group Tours are given Tuesday - Saturday, from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm.
  • Unfortunately, we cannot specify a particular tour time, nor can we request the tour dates in order of preference. If a tour is granted, the White House will determine the time and date.
  • We recommend that groups request more than one possible date for your tour.
  • Tours must be requested a minimum of 30 days in advance. Due to the large number of requests (especially during the holidays), we highly recommend requesting your tour at least 60 to 90 days in advance. We can request tours a maximum of six months in advance.
  • The White House will only consider groups of 10 or more.
  • The White House will send a confirmation or rejection letter approximately one month before the selected date.

Security Information:

  • The White House Visitors Office requires that security information be submitted for members of the tour group.
  • All guests 14 years of age and older must submit their full name, date of birth, social security number, and country of citizenship. (Guests under age 14 must submit full name and date of birth.)
  • Security information must be submitted at least 5 days ahead of the tour, or the tour will be cancelled.  If the information is incorrect or incomplete, the White House will cancel the tour. Once the security information has been forwarded to the White House no additions can be made.
  • Please do not send security information before a tour has been granted for your group by the White House Visitors Office.

Our office receives an extremely large number of tour requests given the 8th District's close proximity to Washington DC.  We are pleased to submit your tour request, but please keep in mind that final decisions are made by the White House Visitors Office and not all requests are granted.

If you have additional questions, or are seeking tours to other local sites, you may email our Constituent Services Liaison, Jinny Federici, jinny.federici@mail.house.gov or call her at (202) 225-3497.

*For Capitol tours requests, please contact Maria Espinoza, maria.espinoza@mail.house.gov; (202) 225-4376.
