9 3 Planes installed, cabled and light-leak checked: 7, 6, 5.Absorber - completed welding 90-degree bends on core cooling pipes. Set 7 roof steel blks, 60/78 now in place. Remaining roof blocks constitute the "back porch". The back porch rests upon the back wall of B Blks - there are 12 such B Blks and 8 are now in place. Continue upstream brick-work. |

Leak testing of core cooling pipe welds made to date, while all such welds are easily reached - once the "back porch" goes in these welds can still be reached but its a lot harder. Continue upstream brick-work. |
11 2 Planes installed, Plane 1, which is cabled and light-leak checked, and then Plane 0, which is bare steel.Near Detector Plane Installation is complete. Absorber - 6 roof steel blks lowered & staged. 12/12 B Blks set in place. Continue upstream brick-work. |
12 Near Detector Coil Lifting Fixture fails it's load test - not due to inability to carry the weight, but because the load twists as it is lifted. A design revision is planned and work begins on it.Absorber - 3 roof steel blks lowered & staged. Set 5 roof blks, 65/78 now in place. Continue upstream brick-work. B Blks for Labyrinth are staged outside MSB. |
13 Absorber - 9 roof steel blks lowered & staged. Set 2 roof blks, 67/78 now in place. Continue upstream brick-work. Riggers also removed all the steel plating which covered the Sump Covers - remaining loads - Absorber blocks and the Detector Coil, do not require the additional plate. |

20 Absorber - lowered 1 B and 2 C Blks for Labyrinth. Set 1 B and 2 Cs. Lowered and set the Bead Box, a wood box which fits around the Absorber cooling pipes, and which will be filled with Poly Beads. The box serves to absorb slow neutrons which would otherwise leak out along the piping path. |

23 Absorber - lowered 1 A and 2 E Blks for Labyrinth. Set Blocks: total so far 1/2 C, 2/9 B, 1/2 A, 2/9 E, 0 F, and no handstack. Rad Safety begins install or Rad Gate at the entrance into the DK Tunnel, just upstream of the Absorber Enclosure. |
