Common name: RUFOUS GRASSHOPPER.
Size: 19-25 mm.
General distribution: W. Nebraska and SE Wyoming, S. to SW Texas and S. Arizona.
Distribution in New Mexico: Statewide.
Habitat: Short grasslands.
Host: Shorter range grasses.
Adults Present: July-September.
Notes: Cream to light orange-brown, often with crescent-shaped mark dorsally; hind wings faintly blue. Not economically important.
