Calibration jobs: ----------------- "New" Drift calibration method: - Responsible for implimenting algorithm to make PMT-by-PMT drift constants via the mean/RMS method for FD and ND - 0.5 FTE? + Currently being worked on by Phil S., but not for much longer + Because of urgency, will be done by the current group unless an enthusastic candidate comes forward ND LI Constants Champion: FD LI Constants Champion: - Responsible for generation of drift, linearity and LI timing constants - Long-term responsibility for getting data processed, doing bookkeeping and liasing with batch processing - Each is about 0.2 FTE for first year, 0.1 thereafter - could be same person + Simona M is current FD Champion. ND Drift Validator FD Drift Validator ND Linearity Validator FD Linearity Validator - Responsible for writing code to check the quality of the ND/FD drift/lin calibration constants, as applied to data. - Can all be the same job, or split up into any combination. - Each job is likely 0.3 FTE for the first year, 0.2 FTE thereafter Analysis of (new) LI PIN linearity problem - A nonlinear effect has been seen in the PIN readout, probably due to VFB crosstalk or other electronic effect. - Needs more analysis effort, but we are too strained right now. - Unknown quantity of work; can lead into jobs below. + Being worked on by Simona and Tingyun in their "copious free time" FD Timing Validator: - Responsible for looking at the timing residuals from FD reconstruction over long times, and check that LI and muon calibrations are keeping up with changes. - 0.3 FTE first year + long term support + IIT has expressed interest ND Timing Study: - Analysis needed to determine if a timing calibration at the ND is possible and/or desirable. - May turn into a production calibration task if needed. - 0.3 FTE + Gina has a summer student working on this. + Low priority PE/Gain Champion: - Responsible for reprocessing existing calibration data to create PE calibrations for ND and FD. - Needs to write code and maintain production. - 0.3 FTE + long term support FD Shield Timing Constants: - Probably a one-time calibration, plus maintenance + Pedro ND D2D Stopping muon analysis + Jeff Hartnell, 0.5 FTE dE/dX Fit analysis - Attempt to confirm the stopping muon analysis with alternate method proposed by Mike K. - Adapt method from CalDet to ND and FD. - Open-ended, 0.5 FTE ND Strip-to-Strip Champion(s) - Responsible for adapting and developing techniques pioneered by Phil S. and Chris S. to the ND - Will develop 'rolling' calibration method - Responsible for getting production constants produced. - Involves R&D. Familiarity with reco a plus. - 1.0 FTE or more in the next year, reducing thereafter - Ideally 2 people at same institution FD Strip-to-Strip Champion(s) - Responsible for further developing and resolving systematic problems with the FD s2s calibration - Will develop 'rolling' calibration method - Responsible for getting production constants produced. - 1.0 FTE or more 1st year, reducing thereafter - Ideally 2 people at same institution + Currently Phil S, but he will finish soon FD Attenuation Study: - Responsible for attempting to understand systematic problems with using mapper fits vs mapper data - Will evaluate the efficacy of developing a calbiration for strip attenuation using muons - Will validate the current contents of the database. - 0.5 FTE for first year, reducing thereafter ND Attenuation Study: - As above, but for ND. - Probably harder than above, but more important. - 0.7 FTE for the first year or two, reducing thereafter - Needs committment by experienced people Muon calibration framework - Study to evaluate possible advantage of developing new 'calibration' ntuples to make the above calibrations easier. - 0.3 FTE? Should closely coupled to above. Other jobs: (related to calibration) ------------------------------------ MC Calibration constants: - Generate Linearity calibration constants for the MC - One time job, 0.1 FTE FD Singles analysis - Use singles data to find uncorrelated and correlated noise rates in FD planes. Put this data into the MC. - One time job, 0.25 FTE + Good job for Justin @ Oxford ND afterpulsing simulation - Find data on ND afterpulsing and put it into MC - One time job, 0.3 FTE? + Rustem is working on it CandMorgue, broken strips analysis - Locate broken strips and put into DB. - 0.1 FTE + long-term support CandMorgue, FD bad chip analysis - Find bad chips by using TP singles data - 0.2 FTE + long-term support + UMD student?
