Interior Hung
Interior HungAn interior hung suspension scaffold consists of a platform suspended from the ceiling or roof structure by fixed-length supports. Note: The requirements on this page are specific to interior hung scaffolds only. For requirements that apply to all types of suspended scaffolds, please refer to the Two-point (swing stage) module.

<< General Requirements
  • Interior hung scaffolds must be suspended from roof structures (e.g., ceiling beams). [1926.452(t)(1)]

  • Roof structures must be inspected for strength before scaffolds are erected. [1926.452(t)(2)]

  • Suspension ropes/cables must be connected to overhead supports by shackles, clips, thimbles, or equivalent means. [1926.452(t)(3)]
