Bio

More than 10 years experience in using Arc/Info geographic information systems (GIS) software, GIS code development, scientific visualization, and advanced grid based GIS modeling to conduct earth and environmental science and urban infrastructure research. Expertise with software development approaches and implementation, cartography, spatial statistics, and design and implementation of client/server GIS. Co-author of a number of publications and performed many GIS presentations both at regional and national GIS conferences. I also write proposals and contribute to many program development activities within my team. I have also served in a management capacity as an acting deputy group leader (30 staff), team leader (8 staff), and GIS project manager. Since joining LANL I have been a recipient of 10 merit awards for excellence in work performed from seven different project and team efforts. I am currently the team leader for GISLab, a team within the Environmental Geology and Spatial Analysis Group (EES-9), where I provide technical and research leadership and manage GIS project tasks. I also serve as a senior project leader within the Department of Homeland Security program office where I focus my efforts on developing new project funding.
