WASHINGTON - U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback announced today a major grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce intended to help insure the Cessna Citation Service Center's continued presence in Wichita.

"I am pleased to congratulate the Sedgwick County Commission on this grant, and glad that we were able to deliver what we promised," Brownback said. "Cessna is an important part of the Wichita economy and the funding of this project will help assure Wichita's future as a leader in the aviation industry."

The EDA (Economic Development Assistance) grant is part of a larger effort by city, county, state and federal officials to make the Cessna expansion project a success.

This compliments $5 million in local bond funds approved last week.
