USAID assists Moldovan State Tax Inspectorate to open a new Call Center for Taxpayers
Thursday, March 19, the Moldova State Tax Inspectorate held the official opening of a new Call Center, located within the Main State Tax Inspectorate, to provide free support to taxpayers regarding tax obligations.
The Call Center provides consultations in Romanian and Russian languages, Monday – Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For the first several months, the center will focus on consulting individual citizens on matters of their income tax since. Later, the Call Center’s consultations will be expanded to cover questions related to all taxes paid by individuals, entrepreneurs, and businesses. For questions that cannot be answered immediately over the telephone, the center will provide follow-up support to those with questions by email and by regular mail with explanatory materials.
The Call Center was created with the support of the Moldova Governance Threshold Country Program with the aim of reducing corruption within the tax system of Moldova and improving the quality of services provided by the Government to citizens. The new call center services will help eliminate excessive contact between taxpayers and tax administration staff, and will create an easy, user friendly way to receive information about taxes.
