Subject: Comment on proposed rule S7-16-07

August 31, 2007

Dear Chairman Cox:

Please continue to allow the citizens of the Unites States and shareholders to influence company policy. There have been enough scandals in different director boards that we, the people, cannot blindly trust anymore. Your office has a job to monitor business and keep these people honest. Please allow the people owning the company (however small our ownership is) to have a voice!

Advisory resolutions play a vital role in encouraging corporations to be responsive to their owners. They help to promote improved corporate governance, greater accountability, and more meaningful disclosure.

I urge you to not curtail investors' rights to file advisory resolutions under Rule 14a-8. Please let me know what action you intend to take on this issue.

Yours sincerely,

Ellen Rutledge
