These images show vortices generated by the interaction of a 2D flat-plate Blasius profile with Helmholtz resonator slots at Re=10,000 (above) and Re=2000 (below), based on boundary layer thickness, which equals the slot width. This is an illustration of a nonconforming spectral element code developed by Jerry Kruse. The calculations were performed on 16 nodes of an SGI Origin2000.
