Position Description: This is a full time position as a technician in the Cell and Cancer Biology Branch. The main project is focused on the molecular biology of human ovarian cancer. This effort involves the extensive use of microarrays, bioinformatics data analysis, and validation of array results using human specimens. Presently, the laboratory has one of the largest expression databases for human ovarian cancer in the world and ongoing efforts are focused on correlations with the clinical features of the disease. It is anticipated that this project will yield new insights into the origin of the ovarian cancer and new approaches to the clinical management of the disease. The project will include the testing of hypotheses generated from expression profiling both in vitro and in vivo using ovarian cancer cell lines and mouse models. The technician position will include laboratory benchwork, tissue culture work and molecular biologic techniques. Opportunities are available for using a variety of techniques such as immunohistochemistry, ELISA, western blotting, microarray analysis, and PCR. Extensive use of microarrays, data analysis and validation will also be available.

Experience Required: Previous experience with molecular biologic techniques, cell culture and microarrays is preferable.

Additional Information: Position available immediately. Appointment duration is potentially permanent. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
