 PRODUCTION AREAS

Shipments, where shown, are for weeks ending January 14, January 21, and 
January 28 in that order, in 1,000 stem or bunch units.  Production outlook is 
for the next week to ten days.  The trading statement is for the period of January 20 to January 26.  Prices are for Thursday, February 2 compared to Thursday, January 26 and represent FOB sales at shipping point. 

CALIFORNIA

Central California Coast
(Shipments are for Total California)

---CARNATIONS:  Shipments (1,000 stems) 78-78-76.  Supplies light.  
Production expected to remain about the same.  Trading moderate.  Prices for fancy were unchanged at mostly .24 per stem. 
---CARNATIONS, MINIATURE - Shipments (1,000 bunches) 3-3-3.  Supplies 
light.  Production expected to remain about the same.  Trading moderate.  Prices were unchanged at 2.00-2.50 per bunch.
---CHRYSANTHEMUMS - Shipments (1,000 stems) 48-48-22.  Supplies 
light.  Production expected to decrease.  Trading moderate.  Prices for assorted colors Standard Type were unchanged at .74-.78 per bloom for extra-large and unchanged at .66-.70 per bloom for large.  
---IRIS - Supplies moderate.  Production expected to remain about the same.  Trading moderate.  Prices for dark blue were higher at 3.00-3.50 per bunch of 10.
---SNAPDRAGON - Supplies fairly light.  Production expected to decrease.  Trading moderate.  Prices were higher at 4.50-5.25 per bunch of 10.  
---STATICE, SINUATA : Supplies insufficient to quote.  
---STOCK - Supplies moderate.  Production expected to decrease.

Assorted Varieties - Supplies moderate.  Production expected to remain about the same.  Trading moderate.  Prices for indoor-grown were unchanged at 1.50-1.75 per bunch.  
---SNAPDRAGON - Supplies moderate.  Production expected to remain about the same.  Trading moderate.  Prices were higher at 3.50-4.50 per bunch of 10.  
---STATICE, SINUATA - Supplies light.  Production expected to decrease.

Trading fairly active.  Prices for assorted colors were slightly higher at .36-.40 per stem.
---ROSES (Tea & Sweetheart) - Shipments (1,000 stems) 664-678-936.
---ROSE, HYBRID TEA  - Supplies light.  Production expected to remain about the same.  Trading fairly active for reds, assorted colors moderate.  Prices for hydroponically-grown greenhouse (includes a few non-hydroponic) 26" and longer reds were unchanged at .48-.52 per stem and assorted colors were slightly lower at .44-.52 per stem. 
---ROSE, SPRAY TYPE - Supplies light.  Production expected to remain about the same.  Trading fairly active for reds, assorted colors moderate.  Prices for hydroponically-grown greenhouse assorted colors 18" and longer were higher at 8.00-8.50 per bunch of 10.    
---ROSE, SWEETHEART - Supplies light.  Production expected to remain about the same.  Trading fairly active for reds, assorted colors moderate.  Prices for 14" and longer lengths assorted colors primarily hydroponic were slightly higher at 
.34-.40 per stem.
