Statement of Significance (as of designation - December 19, 1960):
The Tom Sun Ranch typifies the medium-sized ranching operations of the open range period of the 1870s and '80s. Sun was a French-Canadian frontiersman who became a pioneer cattleman.

Condition:
The Farm Management Company of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints continues to redevelop the main ranch area into a visitor center for Martin’s Cove, an important Mormon historic site. The impact continues to be both positive and negative. Structures continue to be stabilized and repaired while the setting is impacted by parking lots and landscape designs not reflective of the historic setting. However, large portions of the NHL, particularly those areas in public ownership; continue to have integrity of setting.

There are no changes to the landmark since the last reporting period.

Recommendation/Change since last report:
When the inventory of remaining resources is completed, it is recommended to use this inventory to monitor change at this NHL.
