Intramuscular, subcutaneous, intrathoracic, intrapulmonary, intrarenal, intrasplenic, intrathecal and other nonvascular injections are not acceptable methods of administering injectable euthanasia agents.

Excitable and vicious animals should be pretreated with analgesics, narcotics, tranquilizers, or other depressants before being given the euthanizing agent.
