I am disappointed that you are even considering "gutting" the exisiting telemarketing sales rules. Implementing the exisiting "Do Not Call" list ha sbeen aboon to mankind in general and the preponderance of US citizens you are sworn and employed to represent. The DNC has worked well, also, a shining example of agovernement program that does its job. Please refrain from any loosening of these rules. The small segement of the population promoting telemarketing are part of the dregs of humanity who are too incompetent and uncaring to get honest work .. kind of like child pornographers, but child pornographers don't call me at home to solicit.on the telephone that _I_ pay for. The specious arguement that Americans can get jobs via this despicable sideline to real employment is false as well, the owners and executives of these telemarketing firms will only move the work to overseas countries as rapidly as their success permits them to fire Americans and higher Indians, et al. Bad idea. You should also consider expanding the rules to prohibit solicitations from political entities as well. Why should I as arule-abiding, tax-paying citizen be forcxed to allow unrestricted access from political office seekers to my self-funded telephone. The matter of who actually has rights in the country needs to be looked at closely and the principle sof the US Constituion strictly applied. David W. Starr
