Description/Abstract | Speculations concerning aspects of the largest planet Jupiter are considered. These include the structure of the planet's atmosphere and interior, the origin of the three types of radio signal received from the planet, its magnetic field, its probable liquid core, the temperatures associated with its atmosphere and finally the Great Red Spot. The thirteen experiments which Pioneers 10 and 11 are carrying out are designed to probe more profoundly than ever before the many question; which remain unanswered up to now. Some of the experiments and the apparatus being used are briefly described.(UK) |
