Subject: Announcement of the USCMS Spring meeting April 11 in San Diego

      THE US-CMS SPRING MEETING IN SAN DIEGO


Dear Colleagues,

In the midst of bad weather, we can prepare to attend the US-CMS Spring meeting
in San Diego which will be held on the 11-12th of  April 1997. Details of the 
arrangements will be forthcoming, but make sure of a place on your calendar.

The major items on the agenda in addition to the usual comprehensive updates
of progress in the various subsystems will be the elections. This year we 
must elect a spokesman as well as the members of the management Board. 

Dan will organize the election of the management board members 

I will organize the election of the spokesman.

For the spokesman, nominations will be accepted until the meeting (including
nominations from the floor). The nominee should be apprised in advance so that
he/she can make a short (3 min) presentation to the assembled multitudes.
The ballot will be taken by e-mail during the week following the meeting
(ending on the Friday the 18th).

warm meeting.
