This list of attorneys and law firms is provided by the American Consulate as a convenience to United States citizens. It is not meant to be a complete list of attorneys in the Netherlands, and the absence of an attorney from the list is in no way a reflection on competence. Inclusion on the list is based primarily on the attorneys having provided the Embassy with information on their background, practice and foreign language capability, or they appear on the Martindale-Hubbell website.

The American Consulate in Amsterdam assumes no responsibility for the professional ability or integrity of the persons or facilities listed. Fees and the legal services to be provided are a matter for agreement solely between the individual and his attorney.

Dutch law requires that attorneys comply with specific and stringent advertising rules. Since the publication of names of attorneys together with any data concerning their qualifications and professional experience may be considered a contravention of these rules, this list is provided only on condition that it not be published.

Attorneys listed are capable of corresponding in the English language.
The rate of first class mail from the United States to the Netherlands is $.80 per half ounce. Registered mail may be sent through the Netherlands Postal Services and return receipts obtained. International reply coupons should be used when it is necessary to prepay for a reply. Several courier companies including Airborne Express, DHL, Federal Express, and UPS , also offer services to the Netherlands.
Credit reports can be obtained from commercial banks or credit reporting agencies. Several major U.S. financial institutions are represented locally as are their Dutch counterparts in United States.
