Subject: stop fluoride supplements

Dear FDA policymakers-

    I am writing to urge you to take action prohibiting the sale or
marketing of fluoride tablets to be ingested for the purposes of
protecting teeth against decay.  The scientific evidence that ingested
fluoride causes dental fluorosis (with pitting and scarring of the
teeth) and does not actually reduce the incidence of dental caries, so
that "medicating" for this purpose is misguided and even harmful.
    (Note: Fluoride mouthwashes which are not swallowed are not the
products I wish you to target.)
    Thank you for your time and attention to this issue which has been
underpublicized nation-wide.
