THE USA KITCHEN PAVILION

At Gulfood 2007
February 19-22, 2007
Dubai World Trade Center

The U.S. Agricultural Trade Office, in coordination with four U.S. Regional Trade Groups, is organizing, for the first time ever, a USA Kitchen Pavilion at Gulfood 2007.  The kitchen will be located at the USA Pavilion and will feature live cooking demonstrations promoting U.S. regional cuisines.

Chef Roy Lyons, from the State of Louisiana, will conduct live cooking demonstrations on a daily basis promoting different cuisines.  Chef Roy’s interest in diverse cultures and culinary styles, together with his expertise in organization and management of restaurants and catering businesses, has made him one of the top choices for food trade shows and festivals around the world.  Chef Roy will use a variety of donated products from 25 U.S. companies exhibiting at Gulfood 2007.  Menus will highlight products, such as U.S. beef, seafood, cheese, sauces, condiments, spices, nuts, tortillas, pecans, apples, rice and beans.

Chef Roy will be joined by Chef Suzanne Storms, the only female U.S. Executive Chef in the UAE.  Chef Storms joined Le Meridien Al Aqha in Fujairah in November 2005 after working at the Mirage in Las Vegas as the Executive Chef of Catering and Banquets.  Chef Storms is a graduate of the highly-acclaimed Culinary Institute of America.

Chef Roy and Chef Storms will be joined by Chef Mounssef Ouahdani, Radisson SAS, Chef Murji Shamji, Renaissance Hotel, and Chef Priyanshu Malvi, Dhow Palace Hotel.

Taste tests will be served from the display kitchen and recipe booklets highlighting U.S. cuisines will be distributed during the show.
