Objective:
Assess utility and value of modified dried distillers grains and perennial C4 grass feedstocks.

Approach:
Develop and assess feed delivery systems to provide distillers dried grains to range cattle, assess ruminal characteristics of protein, fiber and carbohydrate components of current and future ethanol co-products, conduct preliminary and in-depth investigations on nutritional characteristics and nutrient flux of ethanol co-products fed to dairy cattle, determine how corn, wheat, and soybean residues and tillage systems contribute to residue production and affect soil organic carbon, and determine how crop residue removal or retention influences soil organic carbon.
