New Year's Irresolution


     Resolve to take the weather as it comes?
     Or buck every inch of the way:
     against
     snow
     and ice and 
     sleet and slush?
     And 
     wintry storm 
     and gloves not
     warm and 
     Boots not dry 
     And clouds in the 
     sky and six foot
     drift and 
     sudden shift to
     Arctic gale
     with howling
     winds - a blizzard
     bleak (dig out
     next week?)
     Umbrella busted - 
     Not disgusted??
