Dear Jack, Hi again! It's me, the little old lady of San Gabriel. I had an exciting day today. Was invited to McCurdy Nature Study Center by one of my fellow Jrs. Very honored to go with her for the presentation. Surprise, surprise! She needn't somebody to watch her 3 kids while she talked. How about that? Haven't held a baby for years. Never did like them, even then. We got to watch snakes eat rats, mites eat weevils, alligators try for us. Groovy bunch of guys there 'tho. My only consolation. They remembered me from our 2ND graders visit there in April. Wonder why. Could it have been the mini-skirt & thigh boots I was sporting? "You remember Pat. Sure you do." Dirty-{old}- young men. Haven't heard from Charlie & Frank. Now why wouldn't two Marines on leave write to me? Harumph! This afternoon the Jrs & kids came to swim. Almost lost Daniel. Cast on one arm, water over his head. His sister is sitting there watching him drown, laughing like hell. Me to the rescue, clothes and all. One kid with ringworms, broken toys, spilled punch. Yeck, what a day. Tomorrow a family of five! Ready to move. I should be getting ready for dinner. Can't eat or drink with this ulcer. My ulcer: drank Charlie under the table, he has hang over, I get ulcer. Should teach me to act my age. Right? Now I can't drink at all, and I'm modeling for the Club fashion show so it's an iced tea summer. Sob, sob. [page 2] I really like beer, Coors. Can consume gallons at a time. Then it's a bikini hangover. Sitting in the patio, still soaking up the sun. Late afternoon, very quiet, kid's gone only the radio going. Should really write a couple more, the sun's making me lazy. Yet another cigarette. Should lay off not very healthy. Glad I'm not a health nut. Nothing else to say, so will close for now. The bumber [sic] sticker is for a safe 4th. So - good luck etc. Pat June 14, 1968 Flag Day! Did you display your flag? Tee-hee.
