Amery Sea (30E-90E): IceEdge and northern edge of pack ice from 77E4 to 90E9, and fast ice along coast from 60E6 to 90E9 analyzed using DMSP OLS f13.01281.1325. IceEdge and northern edge of pack ice from 35E8 to 47E1 analyzed using DMSP OLS f13.01281.0718. Remainder of edge and outer pack ice estimated using a combination of SSM/I and Quikscat from 08 Oct, meteorology and climatology. Summary: 30% DMSP OLS, 70% Estimated. Wilkesland (90E-150E): Entire area was estimated using a combination of SSM/I and Quikscat from 08 Oct 2001, meteorology and climatology. Summary: 100% Estimated. Ross Sea (150E-150W): All inner pack ice visible and portions of outer pack ice in the west/central Ross visible on OLS 282.0933Z, 281.1818Z, 281.1635Z, 281.1548Z, 281.0947Z, 280.1831Z, 280.1648Z, 280.1646Z, and 280.1000Z. Remainder of edge and outer pack ice estimated using a combination of SSM/I and Quikscat from 08 Oct 2001, meteorology and climatology. Summary: 70% OLS, 30% Estimated. Amundsen Sea (150W-90W): Most of the areas near the ice edge were analyzed using DMSP OLS f15.01281.1548Z, f15.01279.1618Z, f13.01281.1312Z, and f13.01281.0947Z. Areas near the coast and ice shelf were analyzed using DMSP OLS f13.01281.0947Z and f15.01281.1548Z. Most of the ice edge was estimated using QUIKSCAT from 8 OCT 2001. Summary: 50% DMSP OLS, 50% estimated. Bellinghausen (90W-30W): Area 70-72S and 74-80W analyzed using DMSP OLS 282.1534. Area 61-65S and 36-43W analysed using DMSP 282.0933. Areas between 75-77S 40-50W and 65-70S 50-60W analyzed using DMSP 279.0832. Remainder of area estimated using SSMI from 09 OCT 01. Summary: 25% DMSP OLS, 75% estimated. Weddell Sea (30W-30E): Small area of inner pack and small portion of edge was analyzed using DMSP OLS f15.01283.0648Z, and f15.01281.0718Z. Remainder of area was estimated using a combination of SSM/I and Quikscat from 08 Oct 2001, meteorology and climatology. Summary: 10% OLS, 90% Estimated.
