Notes:  Padre Bentz was born in Dilligen, Bavaria on March 15, 1716. He came to New Spain in August of 1750. In the Pimería Alta, he came first to San Ignacio in 1756, after having previously served at Cumuripa and Ónavas. He stayed there only a short time before being transferred to Caborca, where he served until he died. His burial at Caborca is recorded as follows: "On the twentieth of February of this year (1766), Antonio Bentz, a very religious man, died in this village.  He ministered gloriously here in this mission for more than ten years.  I buried him in the church of this village for which truth I sign:   Alonso Espinosa, IHS"
