| 1. Apparatus for controlling the functions of an MP3 player, comprising:
a substantially linear strap having electrically conductive textile fibers and electrically insulating textile fibers such
that electrical conduction occurs when pressure is applied to said strap:
symbols placed on said strap to represent controls for an MP3 player; and
an interface that includes a controller for interfacing the strap to the MP3 player, such that a user can interact with the
strap in order to control the MP3 player by stroking, pressing, or stroking and pressing said symbols, and
wherein two electrical connections (+v and 0v for example) are made at one end of the strap and a third connection is made
to an additional conductive element to allow a voltage measurement to be taken.
