There is a very serious health care crisis in America that must be addressed now by the Congress and the President. I have introduced HR 676, The United States National Health Insurance Act, to ensure that every American, regardless of income, employment status, or race, has access to quality, affordable health care services.
On December 12, 2007, the House Committee on Judicary passed the Conyers-Chabot compromise to H.R. 3609, the Emergency Home Ownership and Mortgage Equity Protection Act of 2007. If passed by the full House of Representatives, this legislation will allow qualifying homeowners facing foreclosure to restructure their home morgages under the protection of Chapter 13.
