‘Gold Heart’ Shines at CBP Headquarters All Hands Celebration
(08/06/2008)Headquarters employees provided a lot of positive feedback about “Gold Heart,” the bluegrass band that performed during yesterday’s all hands celebration. Band members performing included Trent Gold, assistant chief patrol agent, a 23-year-veteran from the Border Patrol, and his three oldest daughters, Analise, Jocelyn and Shelby Gold, and Zach Gilmer, who joined the band last March.Gold Heart is a creative young bluegrass band from Northern Virginia that features the distinctive talents of the Gold sisters. Their unique "slow drive" sound is unmistakable and captivating. All three Gold sisters are gifted songwriters and arrangers, with Jocelyn having penned most of the bands remarkable material. Gold Heart is passionate about their music and enjoys sharing it with others.Since the band's first stage performance in 2005, they have impressed audiences from coast to coast.Gold Heart has shared the stage with notable bluegrass bands such as Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, Pine Mountain Railroad, Dailey and Vincent, Mountain Heart, and the Tony Rice Unit. The band is scheduled to appear with the Dan Tymnski Band at Watermelon Park near Berryville, Va. September 20.Some of the accomplishments have been first place finishes at the 2008 Podunk Bluegrass Festival in East Hartford, Conn. and the 2007 Berlin Fiddler's Convention in Md.Gold Heart performed on the PBS Series "Song of the Mountains" in June 2008. The show will air early next spring. The band is currently in Nashville putting the finishing touches on their second CD, which is to be released this fall.Commissioner Basham and Chief Aguilar personally thanked each band member for their performance as part of yesterday’s headquarters celebration. |
