DATA PARTICULARS

1. All data included in this compilation have been downloaded from :
       http://www.koeri.boun.edu.tr/earthqk/earthqk.html.
   The data sets included in this compilation are those of the main shocks for the 17 August 1999 Izmit and 12 November 1999 Duzce events. It is known that, in addition to the main-shock data, KOERI has collected  complete data set has been released by KOERI separately during April 2001 (M. Erdik, pers. comm. 2001).

2. Station information (coordinates) on KOERI deployments included in the file KOERI_STATION_INFO.xls are tabulated from the available information on the URL mentioned above.

3. The data sets are kept in their original formats as downloaded from the URL.

4. The users should check the orientations of some of the tri-axial accelerographs that are stipulated to be different than those provided on the web-page. The user is cautioned and exact orientations of these accelerographs should be obtained from the KOERI contact persons or recently released KOERI data CD-ROM.
