  • In 2006, 84.5 percent of all individuals arrested were adults (18 years of age and over).
  • Adults comprised 83.5 percent of the arrests for violent crimes in 2006. Of those, 21.5 percent of arrestees were between the ages of 18 and 21.
  • Juveniles (individuals under age 18) accounted for 26.3 percent of persons arrested for property crimes.
  • Nearly 90 percent (89.6) of persons arrested for drug abuse violations were adults.
  • Historically juveniles have had a high involvement in arson offenses. In 2006, 49.1 percent of persons arrested for arson were juveniles, and 58.0 percent of those juveniles were under age 15.
  • Juveniles accounted for 25.7 percent of all persons arrested for larceny-theft offenses in 2006.
