Chromatin and Chromosome Biology Course

Michael Lichten, Yikand Rong, and Shiv Grewal at the Laboratory of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology are offering a course for Spring 09 on the subject of chromatin and chromosome biology.  This course course has been approved by Johns Hopkins CMDB department, and so all JHU-GPP student will be able to get full credit for it.  Other students will need to contact their home departments to see if credit is available for the course.

This class has two goals:

  • for students to learn about the subject matter at an advanced level
  • for students to gain practice in the critical evaluation of scientific literature

The class is open to all who are interested and who meet the course prerequisites.  Because this course is taught under the joint auspices of the NIH-Johns Hopkins Graduate Partnership Program and the Laboratory of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, preference will be given in the following order:

  • Students enrolled in the NIH-JHU CMDB GPP or the JHU CMDB Graduate Program
  • Graduate students in other GPPs who can receive credit for taking the course.
  • Other students and postdocs in LBMB and in the NCI CECB
  • All others who are interested.

Enrollment will be limited to 18 students, to ensure that each student will present at least once.

Contact Michael Lichten (lichten@helix.nih.gov) if you are interested in taking this course and for a course syllabus.
