Re: 7(a) Guaranty Purchase and Liquidation Centralization

A newly established Liquidation/Purchase Center located in Herndon, Virginia, is participating in a key SBA initiative for centralizing 7(a) loan functions in order to increase efficiency and streamline operations.  The Herndon center will be handling all 7(a) loans involving lender liquidation oversight and guaranty purchases on a nationwide basis in the near future.  As of February 2, 2004, the Herndon center will be servicing liquidation cases and new guaranty purchase requests for this office.  However, guaranty purchases and post-purchase reviews (for secondary market loans) that are underway will remain in this office for completion.

The Herndon center staff will be dedicated solely to processing 7(a) liquidations and guaranty purchases.  Its goal will be to provide you with exceptional customer service and quick turnaround times.  Upon your notification to the center that one of your loans has been placed in liquidation, you will receive a letter containing instructions from the loan specialist assigned the case.  If your submission to SBA involves a request for guaranty purchase, the center will provide you with instructions and a checklist containing the items needed to process the purchase.

For future loan liquidation and guaranty purchase matters, except on cases being completed by this office, please direct all correspondence and/or documentation to:
