Gracie M. Specks
Executive Biography

Gracie M. Specks was appointed Associate Director of the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center (VAMC) on September 19, 2004.

Ms. Specks is the former Deputy Executive of the Medical Care Line at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas. She served at the Michael E. DeBakey VAMC for the last three years, and prior to that was the Acting Associate Director at the VA Chicago health care System where she oversaw a budget in excess of $194 million. Ms. Specks began her career with VA at the Olin E. Teague VA Medical Center in Temple, Texas.

Ms. Specks graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1971 with a Master of Science Degree with a major in Nutrition and Food and a minor in Business Administration and from Grambling State University in 1969 with a major in Institution Management and a minor in General Chemistry.
