WASHINGTON, AUGUST 8, 2008 – The Leesburg Rotary Club will be hosting a meeting featuring Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Ocala) providing remarks on the current energy situation and the outlook for congressional action. Said Stearns, “I look forward to thanking the Leesburg Rotary Club members for their community work and to outline the need for comprehensive action on the energy front. In addition to developing more domestic oil and natural gas, we must expand the u
se of renewable and alternative energy sources, while increasing energy efficiency and conservation.”
The meeting will be held on August 13th starting at 1:15 PM in the Leesburg Community Center, 109 East Dixie Avenue. Stearns, a senior member of the House Energy & Commerce Committee, has joined in offering a comprehensive package of legislation to increase energy production and promote energy conservation.
