Rotary International

Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders committed to volunteerism. Rotary provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build good will and peace in the world. Approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 33,000 Rotary clubs in 168 countries.

Rotary is the volunteer arm of a global effort to eliminate polio worldwide. In 1985, Rotary's members vowed to make the world polio-free. This 20-year commitment to end polio represents the largest private-sector support of a global health initiative to date. Rotary has already committed US$500 million and countless hours of volunteer work to help immunize nearly two billion children throughout the world.

Since 1947, The Rotary Foundation has awarded more than US$1.1 billion in humanitarian and educational grants, which are administered at the local level.
