Two immunoassay kits for conducting preliminary urine screening tests for cocaine, ARIA and TDX, were compared for correlation of their results as expressed in terms of equivalent benzoylecgonine concentration, with the gas chromotography/mass spectrometry (GS/MS) concentration of benzoylecgonine. |
Abstract:
|
The correlation coefficients, based on 62 highly relevant samples were 0.467 and 0.766 for ARIA and TDX respectively. The preliminary screen cutoff values were calculated based on the regressive equations; they were 380 and 190 mg/mL for ARIA and TDX, respectively. In relation to these cutoff values, ARIA generated 5 false negatives and 16 unconfirmed presumptive positives; TDX generated 3 false negatives and 6 unconfirmed presumptive positives. 2 tables, 2 figures, and 8 references (Author abstract modified) |
