I was very interested a few months ago when we talked on this list about teaching math, since I was working on a year-long project to connect research in numeracy instruction with classroom practice. I'm happy to say that my project is finished, and I've written a manual and a literature review that I hope will be interesting to more than just math teachers. I consulted with more than 100 people who teach basic math to adults in BC, who talked about what changes they would like to make in their teaching practice, and what barriers got in the way of making change. In response to their concerns, I wrote a manual, available at the National Adult Literacy Database.

The attached file gives more information about the project. I hope you will pass this information on to your networks.

The project was funded by the National Office of Literacy and Learning (NOLL), Human Resources and Social Development Canada.
