MISSION SIMULATION AND ACTIVITIES TAPES

This subseries consists of reel to reel and cassette tapes of mission simulations and activities. Boxes 51 and 52 contain 29 reel to reel tapes of mission simulations, including launch and reentry simulations, centrifuge tests, and parachute tests. About one third of the tapes are not dated, but those that are fall between October, l960, and September, 1961. The tapes are arranged chronologically. Boxes 53-55 contain 35 mission tapes from Little Joe through Mercury Atlas 9 (MA-9) and a number of cassette tapes. They include press briefings, on-board and air-to-ground communications, and mission control tapes. The tapes are arranged in chronological order. The inclusive dates are September, 1959, through May, 1963. About one-third of the tapes are from MA-6. Also included in this box are Congressional Documents for the Apollo Chronology by Swenson (2 cassettes).
