This layer is comprised of the Federal fuels project accomplishments for fiscal year 2007 over the United States. The agencies included in the layer are: USDA's Forest Service, and DOI's Bureau of Indian Affairs, DOI's Bureau of Land Management, DOI's Fish and Wildlife Service, and DOI's National Park Service

This data will be used on the National Fire Plan Maps website as an Internet based mapping application that visually portrays the Department of Interior and Department of Agriculture land management agencies hazardous fuels program projects in relation to the wildland urban interface communities. These are communities that are within the vicinity of federal lands that are at high risk from wildland fire.

The data was downloaded from <http://dashboard.nfpors.gov/fo/default.asp> as MS Excel files. Once downloaded files were imported into MS Access and then a subset of the data was added as a data theme to ArcMap 9.2 and used the following query information to extract the FY07 accomplished treatments:

Performed spatial join with Congressional District 110 National Atlas updated dataset saving as new work file. Calculated 109 updated data into existing fields PARTY_AFF, URL, REP_NAME, ST_FIPS, ST_ABBR, ST_NAME, CONG_DIST. 64 records were not populated by the spatial join because lat long slightly outside of polygon (on water bodies forming borders or ocean). Selected each and added ST_FIPS, ST_ABBR, CONG_DIST where obvious match to polygon. Added associated REP_NAME, PARTY_AFF, and URL. Calculated updated DISTRICTID from ST_FIPS+CONG_DIST. Removed work fields and saved as new final file.
