SUBJECT: 1998 Data Acceptance System (DAS) Handbook

The 1998 Manual 13, Data Acceptance System and Reinsurance Accounting System Handbook
has been updated. Clarifications and modifications of the 1998 reinsurance year reporting
requirements have been previously discussed with company data processing representatives.

The entire 1998 handbook is maintained electronically via the Risk Management Agency's Home
Pages in the Web Site in Word Perfect 6.1 format. Companies and RMA field offices may obtain
either a zipped or Word Perfect file to download and then view or print. The 1997 and 1998 
M-13 Handbooks may be accessed on the Actuarial Server under the Actuarial Information Public
Access Server on the FTP download/M-13 Handbook Subdirectory.

The 1998 handbook in the Word Perfect version is in the subdirectory 1998 wpd and the zipped
format is in the 1998 zip subdirectory. Printed copies will not be distributed. The M-13 Handbook
will be available online through a Web page in the near future.
