Description/Abstract The need for a cheap and rapid method of making total leucocyte counts is discussed. An experiment was performed to compare the results from a modification of the Dreyer-Sinton Fowl Cell Technique with those obtained by the routine method. The Dreyer-Sinton Fowl Cell Technique was found to give a reasonably good estimate of the total leucocyte count. The advantages and disadvantages of the method are discussed. The white cell dilution pipette method using a modified hemacytometer is recommended. (auth)
