Notes on the use of SGI's "ilchain", as modified by Om Sharma/RDC - 7 May 1995 USEAGE________________________________ ilchain where first member of must be an image-format file accepts "ls" wildcard conventions 1) filetypes supported: .tiff .tifftile .jpeg .sgi 2) all members in list are rescaled to same size as first member CURSOR KEYS_________________________ up => zoom larger 2X down => zoom smaller 2X right => show next image in series left => show previous image in series MOUSE KEYS____________________________ left => draw ROI by click & drag middle => grab and move image by click & drag right => popup control menu options KEYBOARD__________________________________________ LOWERCASE UPPERCASE a b => brighten image (gamma) c d => delete image from sequence D => delete from file system e f => flush animation buffer g h => min/max grey LUT for ROI H => histogram equal. for ROI i => next image in series j k l => animation loop (toggle on/off) L => loop backward m n => invert LUT o p => sharpen image P => sharpen more q r s => statistics for ROI t u v w => write ROI to file x => original resolution X => original LUT y z esc => quit FUNCTION KEYS___________________ F1 = rescale ROI to fill window NUMERIC KEYPAD KEYS__________________________________________ c = / * 7 8 9 - 4 5 6 + 1 2 3 E 0000 . E 123456789 => viewport moves in that compass direction within image i.e. 9 moves viewport up and to the right 5 halts movement repeat same key to speed up movement shift-123456789 => viewport jumps to compass-corner of image i.e. 7 jumps to upper left corner 5 jumps to center of image When looping - slows loop to 1 second per frame + resumes loop at native speed TIPS_____________________________________________________ 1) apply changes to LUT before looping to use changed LUT for all images. 2) 2X zoom has a SGI bug that shows "seams" in the image on the screen. 3) second use of "h" or "H" enhancement will crash unless "X" is applied. 4) loops of zoomed & clipped images run faster than loops of entire image. 5) select ROI before looping creates loop of ROI only. 6) select ROI before "h" or "H" enhancement to optimize LUT for ROI.
