Elliptic Flow studies for PMD using MEVSIM

Aim

Our aim is to study anisotropic flow using PMD detector at STAR experiment.

Technique

We are analysing PMD (Photon Multiplicity Detector) anisotropic flow using MEVSIM + GEANT. For this purpose we generate events by MEVSIM and then pass them through whole STAR GEOMETRY using GEANT . After this we run STAR reconstruction chain called BFC (Big Full Chain) chain for getting information of various detectors. For analysis of anisotropic flow we need event plane angle which we are getting from MEVSIM. We fit ($\phi$ - $\psi$) distribution by the fit function and got the value of anisotropic flow.

Procedure

We are using Mevsim event generator. We input 10 % elliptic flow for piplus, piminus and pi zero for eta range -1.3 to -4.7 and different multiplicity. We estimate multiplicity using hijing event genrator. By running mevsim we get ntuple files. Now we use these ntuple files for creating fzd files which have information of star geometry using geant. We use year 2004 geometry. Now we use these fzd files for creating event.root and geant.root files using star bfc chain. By geant.root file we get the information of tracks and by event.root file we get the information of hits and clusters for PMD. We calculate photon and hadron elliptic flow for tracks and for clusters. We seprate original hadron clusters with backgroung hadron clusters. Then we compare elliptic flow of photon track with photon cluster and original hadron cluster with background hadron cluster.
