Location

The Sacramento Valley forms the northern part of California's Central Valley. The Sacramento Valley is bounded to the west by the Coast Ranges, to the east by the Sierra Nevada and Cascade Range, and to the north by the Klamath Mountains. (Detail map)

Status

Based on the studies at this Project, selenium concentrations in water and bottom sediment were well within national and regional baselines. Concentrations in biological tissues were not toxicologically significant except for heron and mallard eggs, which were slightly elevated above the guidelines for no clear risk. The NIWQP is no longer involved at this location.
