Codium hawaiiense is an endemic green alga of the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands. Individuals are erect with green spongy, finger-like branches up to 16 inches tall. It is a deep subtidal species that can be found to depths of 160 feet. Codium hawaiiense typically grows on rocky substrate, but is sometimes found on lobster traps.
