| Message: | The Canadian National Railroad should be prevented from buying the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern rail line because of the traffic and child safety issues associated with what CN estimates to be 20 additional freight trains per day on this line. The line cuts right through Barrington's downtown, where many residents walk and/or stroll throughout the warm weather months. Additionally, the extra lines are sure to snarl traffic into and out of town, slowing commute times already adversely affected by freight and commuter lines. The environmental effect on people, commutes and surely air quality is too adverse to allow this purchase to go through. Sincerely, Leeann Zouras |
