Journal Entry   Back Endangered Species presentation at Holladay Magnate School in Tucson, AZ Southwest Region, May 2, 2008 Print Friendly Version Marit Alanen, a wildlife biologist in the Tucson suboffice of the Arizona Ecological Services office, gave a short presentation about endangered species to two 5th grade classes at Holladay Magnate School in Tucson, Arizona, on May 2.  The presentation focused on the definition of an endangered species and what reasons might lead a species to become endangered.  Following the presentation, the students asked numerous questions about endangered species in Arizona specific to animals about which they were writing reports, such as the Mexican gray wolf, black-footed ferret, and Kanab ambersnail.  Approximately 50 students and 4 teachers were in attendance.
