1. How to show CAM/CNC inter-operability To demonstrate inter-operability we will use UGS to define the roughing and semi-finishing operations and Mastercam to define the probing and finishing operations. The two files will be merged by cutting and pasting workingsteps between AP-238 files. Any issues found will be recorded and used to improve the standard or the best practices for using the standard. 2. How to demonstrate the new CLM method is easy to use We will paste sticky tape at random on the semi-finished part and let the operator measure the displacement by selecting a pre-programmed probing working step from a selection already in the system. The converter will display the displacement and let the user decide if this displacement should be used to program the compensation register for the finishing workingstep. 3. Publicity Material NIST will begin work on a scenario document for the Eastec demonstration. Boeing will use this document to create a publicity poster. STEP Tools will prepare a one page flyer highlighting the major features of the demonstration for those who do not need to know the details. Action Items: * STEP Tools to deliver test files to NIST for testing on the 840D and Millplus controls. * STEP Tools to implement a tool to cut and paste data between AP-238 files. * NIST to develop the scenario document. * Boeing to prepare the poster. * UGS to develop test data for the roughing and semi-finishing operations. The next telcon will be at 2PM on Thursday April 5th. As recorded by Martin Hardwick on April 28th, 2005.
