Carriage
Field cannon barrels were mounted on wooden carriages that varied only slightly for the different types of tubes. Every part of the carriage had a name, including a handspike, trail handle, stock or trail, barrel or tube, spongerammer, attached below carriage by hook and chain, and a wheel.
