Description:
Located about 20 miles north/east of Escalante Utah, this rustic two room, cabin sleeps four people comfortably. A small trout stream runs in front of the cabin. Summer days are warm and nights are cool.
Facilities provided include one double bed, one set of bunk beds, couch, propane cook range, wood cook stove, propane refrigerator, hot water heater, lanterns and indoor shower. An outhouse is located just down a trail from the cabin. Bring your own bedding. Some pots and pans and dishes are provided. There is no electricity. Water may not be available. Camping is not allowed at this site. Please do not use tents, motorhomes, or RVs. No saddle, pack or draft animals are allowed. Popular activities include: stream fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and big game hunting. ATV's all allowed to ingress and egress only. Please bring garbage bags. This facility is "Pack it in. Pack it out."
Alerts and Important Information
Site access is difficult about 14 miles of the road is gravel, with some steep sections.
Water is shut off before Memorial Day and after Labor Day.
Lanterns are provided.
The cabin has a wood cook stove for heating.
Please leave the cabin clean for the next occupant. You are responsible for the removal of your own trash from the cabin.
Fees are nonrefundable.
Use is limited to a maximum of 7 persons.
Same day reservations are allowed.

From Highway 12 in Escalante turn north on 300E. Drive 14 miles to the
junction of roads 154 and 153. Continue on road 153 for 4.5 miles. Turn
left on road 145 towards Blue Spruce Campground. Travel .7 miles to
Cowpuncher Gate. Cabin is 0.2 miles past the gate.
